ABOUT

I have long standing interest in people which led me to take a degree in Mental Health and later a Postgraduate Diploma in cognitive Behaviour Therapy. I have gained both a theoretical knowledge and practical experience within a supporting team for the last twenty years. The rehab ward I worked in for 15 years supported clients with enduring mental health needs. The rehab team helped to equip clients with tools and coping mechanisms toward living in the community. In 2007 I completed a honours degree in Mental health nursing. This led me to taking a position as a deputy manager of the ward. Overall, the experience of working in a team helped me gain practical skills needed toward my current employment e g., the ability to communicate effectively, the power of human empathy, adhering to policies and procedures and multidisciplinary team working. In 2017 – 2018, I completed my training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. I currently have a substantial post as High Intensity Therapist within the NHS. I have extensive experience working with clients with complex needs who also present with challenging behaviours. I have gained experience of clinical procedures and learnt about the need of a tactful and sensitive approach to clients. My substantial experience working within my client group has left me with no doubt that I can contribute to any organisation that supports people lives in particular the lives of those who are sadly disabled by their emotional disorders. My areas of expertise (CBT, ACT, CFT) supports a range of emotional disorders that I’ve with over the last eight years as a CBT Therapist e g., PTSD, GAD, OCD, Panic, social anxiety, phobias, LTC, panic, LTC, Agoraphobia, BDD, Emetophobia, voices
