I am Mrs. Folusho Sali, a licensed Social Worker with over 40 years of experience as a Counsellor and Relationship Coach, supporting clients’ psychological and emotional well-being. I believe healing happens in safe, non-judgmental spaces where people feel heard, respected, and empowered.
I work with adolescents and adults facing relationship challenges, life transitions, and difficult situations, offering individual, couples, family, and group counselling. My approach combines empathy, active listening, and practical coping strategies tailored to each client’s needs.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Guidance Counselling and a Master’s Degree in Educational Planning. I am a licensed member of the Nigerian Association of Social Workers (NASoW) and a professional member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).
I joined the Oyo State Government in 1984 as a Social Welfare Officer and rose to become Director of Social Welfare in 2004. My work focused on youth development, women empowerment, family support, and community development through impactful programmes, counselling, and mentorship. I partnered with organisations including UNICEF, UNESCO, and UNFPA, contributing to the establishment of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, where I served as the first Executive Secretary from 2008 to 2011.
In 2011, I was appointed Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community Development, Social Welfare, and Poverty Alleviation, serving until 2017.
Since retirement, I have consulted for several NGOs and later became Chairman of the Board of Trustees of AWON, Oyo State, overseeing over 70 NGOs focused on child, family, women, and community development.
I am a devout Christian, a Jerusalem Pilgrim, a certified Justice of the Peace (JP), happily married with children and grandchildren, and currently run a private counselling and social work practice.
