What People Are Saying About Mental Health

Have you ever felt like your mental health journey is a rollercoaster—full of ups, downs, and unexpected turns?

Truly, mental health is a deeply personal and intricate journey. Each individual's story carries its own weight, triumphs, and struggles.

Your voice matters to us, and that's why we conducted a survey to gain insights into people's experiences with mental health. The responses shed light on the challenges, coping strategies, and perspectives of those navigating their mental well-being.

The Prevalence of Mental Health Challenges

The survey revealed that mental health challenges are quite common. A significant number of participants reported experiencing anxiety (91.7%) and depression (66.7%).

Other frequently encountered conditions included eating disorders (16.7%), and OCD (16.7%). addiction (8.3%). While less commonly reported, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, and panic attacks still affected 8.3% of respondents.

These findings highlight that mental health issues manifest in various forms and impact individuals in different ways. Whether it's grappling with anxiety or managing the fluctuations of bipolar disorder, each challenge presents its own unique complexities.

These struggles are interconnected with every facet of life. Survey participants highlighted the areas most impacted, such as personal relationships, sleep quality, emotional health, self-esteem, academic success, and career paths.

These effects extend outward, shaping how individuals interact with their surroundings.

Navigating Mental Health Without Professional Help

It is heartbreaking that despite the widespread nature of these struggles, a large majority of participants (83.3%) have not sought professional help.

For many, self-management becomes the only viable option, yet it can often feel isolating and overwhelming.

Financial limitations, inaccessibility and stigma were prevalent barriers to accessing therapy or counseling.

One respondent expressed, "I know I really need therapy, but I can't afford it. Music has been a huge support for me, and I hope I can hold it together."

This highlights the pressing need for accessible mental health resources.

Building a Supportive Future

The results of this survey emphasize the need for more open discussions about mental health. Despite its significant effects, various factors often prevents individuals from seeking the help they desperately need.

To genuinely foster mental well-being, we must focus on:

  • Accessible Therapy: Ensuring affordable and widespread access to professional support.
  • Community Support: Creating safe environments for sharing and connecting without fear of judgment.
  • Education: Raising awareness about mental health to diminish stigma and provide coping strategies.

Tranqbay is dedicated to these efforts and remains hopeful that everyone will receive the help they need.

If you’re on your own mental health journey, remember that you’re not alone. Sharing your story and seeking support are brave steps toward a brighter future for yourself and others.

Let’s keep the conversation going. Together, we can build a world where mental well-being is a priority for everyone.

Considering therapy? Start with an Initial Consultation — a low-commitment first step to finding the right support.

How to help someone with a mental health crisis

A mental health crisis can be just as urgent as a physical one. When someone is pulled from the water and cannot breathe, first aid often involves mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. In the case of a minor accident at home, we know to quickly reach for a bandage, apply pressure to stop bleeding, or offer basic care before medical professionals arrive. These immediate steps do not replace treatment, but they can keep the situation from getting worse.
